Article Abstract:
Certain great achievements of science have flowed from predictions, and such unambiguous predictions come from a tightly argued, self-contained theoretical framework that stand out amongst the peaks of science. More common and foolish predictions are often more casual and wide ranging, based on blinkered preconceptions. There is much to be said for an enhanced degree of interaction between science and society.
