Article Abstract:
New legislation enacted in states of Mississippi and New Mexico in the United States, which provides tax benefits to landowners who donate their property or restrict its use for conservation is discussed. A tax credit up to 50 percent of the transactions costs linked to land donations and easement is provided by the new law in Mississippi, United States.

Article Abstract:
An attempt to protect three federally endangered mussel species is under way, since as much as 30% of the soil, and attendant pesticides, can end up in rivers, eroded by wind and rain. The Conservancy is helping farmers in the Midwest and abroad and change the way they prepare their fields for planting.
