Teachers for tigers

Amit Chavan from the Bombay Natural History Society and Gigi Joseph from India's Periyar Tiger Reserve are part of Teachers for Tigers workshop to help educators share the wonders of these magnificent cats with the people who face the risks of living near them. The workshop's manual emphasizes interactive teaching techniques designed to increase knowledge about tigers, build appreciation for them and motivate participation in their conservation.

Partial to pigeons...especially the tropical kind
Article Abstract:
The pigeons and the invaluable role-played by them in maintaining the rain forest and the threats that hang over them are discussed. The pigeons by way of fruit seed dispersal of at least 54 species of plants, throughout the forest help the rain forest with dispersal activity but are the endangered species.

Building a mesoamerican trail
Article Abstract:
About 50,000 tourist climb up the Santa Ana valance, annually, via a deeply eroded trail that poses hazards for these tourist. The wildlife conservation society sponsored the workshop that was planned to rebuild the trail together with the US forest service.
