Tepid tastes
Article Abstract:
Cruz and Green have shown that temperature changes on the tongue can create the sensation of taste in humans, raising questions concerning the transduction and coding of taste signals. Thermal tastes are not normally reported and they appear to be weak compared with the tastes of foods and beverages. Thermal tastes demonstrate the complexities of sensory coding.

Finding the lost target
Article Abstract:
Ramer and colleagues have shown that certain neurotrophic factors can have an effect on regenerating sensory fibres enabling them to enter the spinal cord. They stimulated the regeneration of damaged sensory fibres using a panel of neurotrophic factors. The fibres overcame the inhibitory influences of dorsal root entry zone (DREZ).
