The Christmas invasion
Article Abstract:
Entomologists are worried about the whiteflies that would be hiding among the red foliage of the poinsettias during the forthcoming 2006 Christmas season and scientists have ranked them as one of the world's most destructive pests to crops. They are looking at the possible responses of the whiteflies to the pesticide-resistant Q-biotype, such as management schemes that make use of new members of the neonicotinoid family of pesticides.
