The Mesp 2 transcription factor establishes segmental borders by suppressing Notch activity
Article Abstract:
Endogenous levels of Notch 1 activity in mice is studied, which shows that Notch 1 activity oscillates in the posterior pre-somatic mesoderm (PSM) but it arrested in the anterior PSM. The results indicate that the interface formed between somite boundaries between Notch-activated and -repressed domains, is generated by suppression of Notch activity by mesoderm posterior 2 (Mesp2).

A non-haem iron center in the transcription factor NorR senses nitric oxide
Article Abstract:
Study is conducted to show that the regulatory domain of NorR contains a mononuclear non-haem iron center, which reversibly binds nitric oxide (NO). The mechanism of NorR reveals an unprecedented biological role for a non-haem mononitrosyl-iron complex in NO sensing.
