The iceman of Svalbard
Article Abstract:
German physicist Hauke Trinks with the help of biochemist Biebricher is investigating sea ice or frozen sea water to see whether, in freezing conditions, the right mix of chemicals produces RNA molecules, which could have been the basis of early life. Trinks has undertaken many Arctic expeditions to study the environment their and gather samples in order to study the origin of life.

Seismic identification of along-axis hydrothermal flow on the East Pacific Rise
Article Abstract:
The seismic identification of the along-axis hydrothermal flow existing on the East Pacific Rise is discussed. The analysis also shows that the hydrothermal circulation is strongly aligned along the ridge axis in that area.
