The pleasure of learning
Article Abstract:
A war veteran recounts his days in Columbia University, New York after returning from the Second World War. Even though Nobel laureates taught him, the atmosphere was not very encouraging. However, Gilberto Bernardini, the new visiting professor from Rome, rekindled the day-to-day enjoyment inherent in science in the students.

Building a behemoth
Article Abstract:
The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is a proton-proton collider that requires two separate accelerator rings to explore the validity of the standard model at high collision energies and rates. With the ability of carrying out collisions at high rates, the collider can be used for the discovery of several unknown particles.

The god particle et al
Article Abstract:
The high-energy and nuclear physics help in the identification of the primordial particles of the nature that are supposed to form all the matter. The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is found to be very useful for studying various exotic apparitions, describing Higgs and other particles.
