The real sea change
Article Abstract:
A program by History of Marine Animal Populations (HMAP) studied archives, museums and archaeological and paleontological records including sources such as pirate logs, medieval cookbooks and restaurant menus to catalog everything that lives in the ocean. The HMAP researchers believe that the hybridization of history about pirate activities and ecology is gaining momentum and acceptance and could provide help for future research and conserve biodiversity.
