The story of i
Article Abstract:
A study to learn and look into how an individual is feeding into immunology and cancer biology, as multicellular creators can be battlegrounds for competing populations of cells is presented. When two colonies fuse, the stem cells of each are free to build tissues in what used to be a separate colony and this mixes up the different cells and gives the 'new' tunicate the benefit of a greater range of gene variants without all the fuss and bother of sex.

Running the red light
Article Abstract:
Cystic fibrosis, a genetic disease is being treated with a new trial drug PTC124, which encourages cells to ignore the genetic mutations. This drug works on the system that translates genetic information into proteins, forcing it into ignoring a specific sort of genetic defect and this should also work against some other diseases in which single genes are damaged.
