The third bond
Article Abstract:
The guanine-cytosine (GC) base pair has three hydrogen bonds whereas adenine-thymine (AT) has two, which, was not seen by James Watson and Francis Crick in 1953 when they published the DNA structure. The third hydrogen bond in the GC pair made its first published appearance in 1956 by Linus Pauling and Robert Corey however, the first hint of the third bond in scientific literature actually came in a footnote to a paper published by Jerry Donohue, a physical chemist and crystallographer.

Involvement of targeted proteolysis in plant genetic transformation by Agrobacterium
Article Abstract:
Agrobacterium exports its transferred (T) DNA and several virulence (Vir) proteins into the host cell. An attempt is made to show that VirF, one of few known exported Vir proteins whose function in the host cell remains unknown, is involved in targeted protoeolysis of VIPI and VirE2.
