Article Abstract:
A study by the Institute for Economic Development at the University of Texas (UT) at San Antonio reported that the system's six health institutions alone provided 111,700 jobs. The biomedical enterprise that ranks third in the nation for university expenditure in the biosciences is aiming towards technology and actively promotes research at the interface between the physical and life sciences.

An increase in the amount of money and research work in order to fight diseases such as Malaria, Tuberculosis and AIDS, are cited. Efforts are being made to control these diseases, which at the same time will have a knock-on effect for researchers.
