Tibetan plateau aridification linked to global cooling at the Eocene-Oligocene transition
Article Abstract:
Magnetostratigraphy and cyclostratigraphy are used to show that aridification, which is indicated by the disappearance of playa lake deposits in the northeastern Tibetan plateau, has occurred precisely at the time of the Eocene-Oligocene transition. The results have shown that the global transition is linked to aridification and cooling of continental Asia recorded by palaeontological and palaeoenvironmental changes.

Terrestrial ecosystem carbon dynamics and climate feedbacks
Article Abstract:
The carbon dynamics and climate changes observed in the terrestrial ecosystem are discussed. These ecosystems are expected to exhibit less signs of global warming than the other parts of the planet.
