Training captive-bred or translocated animals to avoid predators
Article Abstract:
Animal reintroductions and translocations are important interventions to save species from extinction. The evolutionary and ontogenetic approach is described under which antipredator behavior may degenerate or be lost. It is suggested that training can improve antipredator skills but the effectiveness of such interventions is influenced by a number of constraints.

Learning specificity in acquired predator recognition
Article Abstract:
The responses of tammar wallabies, Macropus eugenii, to a model fox, Vulpes vulpes, were enhanced in order to investigate the specificity of learning in a predator recognition context. It was found that training prompted a fear response to a model fox that linked immediate locomotion and sustained vigilance.

Social learning of antipredator behaviour in a marsupial
Article Abstract:
The transmission of the socially acquired predator recognition response to the predator-naive marsupials is examined. The social learning in a marsupial suggests that they have cognitive characteristics convergent with those of eutherian mammals.
