Ultrasensitive solution-cast quantum dot photodetectors
Article Abstract:
A method of fabricating solution-processed infrared photodetectors in a single-processing step, by overcoating a prefabricated planar electrode array with an unpatterned layer of PbS colloidal quantum dot nanocrystals, is presented. The use of tailored selection of absorption onset energy through the quantum size effect, combined with deliberate engineering of the sequence of nanoparticle fusing and surface trap functionalization enables achievement of superior performance in devices fabricated using such a method.

How clean is too clean?
Article Abstract:
Most of the microelectronics gadgets have silicon chips and these silicon-based devices are getting smaller day by day. Silicon nanowires in ultra-clean conditions could be used as building blocks of these devices but it is difficult to regulate the growth of these nanowires in a strictly controlled environment.
