Uncertainty in the reconstruction of ancestral character states and limitations on the use of phylogenetic comparative methods
Article Abstract:
It cannot be argued that there is no need to use phylogenetic information. However, phylogenetic information should be considered at an earlier stage of analysis. If there is no connection between phylogenetic and phenotypic similarity, then subsequent use of phylogenetic approaches may not be justified. If such a connection does exist, then phylogenetic information should be integrated into statistical analysis and evolutionary interpretation. It is important to consider whether there are circumstances in which phylogenetic approaches should not be used at all.

The evolution of herbal medicine: Behavioural perspectives
Article Abstract:
A question about the origin of herbal medicine in animal and ancestral humans is promoted due to the popularity of traditional herbal supplements and the findings that add scientific legitimacy to the use of some medicine herbs. The requirement of both the learned and evolutionary explanations points to an evolutionary model for the origin of herbal medicine that are expanded and enhanced by learning and social transmission.

The evolution of postcopulatory displays in dabbling ducks (Anatini): a phylogenetic perspective
Article Abstract:
Research into initial and additional postcopulatory displays in dabbling duck species is presented. The most likely functions of these displays include individual identification and pair bond maintenance.
