Understanding the causes of missed global positioning system telemetry fixes
Article Abstract:
The best models with tests of fix success at stationary sites and error rates for corrected and uncorrected coordinates relative to the true location at random sites were compared using data from Globally Positioning System (GPS) collared grizzly bears. The best model explaining fix success included only minimum angle, to the horizon and was statistically significant, but explained little of the variation and location error was not statistically significant, explaining very little of variation.

Detecting and measuring food and water intake in captive seals using temperature telemetry
Article Abstract:
Temperature telemetry is used to determine food and water intake of captive seals (Phoca groenlandica). The stomach temperature of the captive harp seals is recorded by the VHF temperature transmitters in their stomachs. A reduction in the stomach temperature is caused by the ingestion of water and food. Food and water intake is detected and measured, which in turn is used to estimate its influence on marine resources.

Accuracy of lightweight satellite telemetry: A case study in the Iberian Peninsula
Article Abstract:
The accuracy of satellite transmitters was determined by carrying out case study in the Iberian Peninsula. The lightweight global positioning system (GPS) was more accurate than the Argos system fixed to the transmitters.
