Divorce and asynchronous arrival in common terns, Sterna hirundo
Article Abstract:
Divorce in common terns was investigated, and out of three hypotheses, better option, incompatibility or asynchronous arrival, the better option and incompatibility hypotheses were not supported. Divorce however was more likely in pairs where mates arrived asynchronously to the breeding grounds, supporting the asynchronous arrival hypothesis.
