Ways of the wild: predator relationships
Article Abstract:
The improbable but documented friendship that often exists between coyotes and badgers who team up as hunting partners is an example of the relationship between predators that wildlife conservationists wish to document. The badger-coyote friendship was know to Native Americans, who would depict the two as travelling companions. Other animals being studied are the interactions between cougars and coyotes, ravens and wolves, and otters and eagles, who may not be chums, but do affect each other's presence in an ecosystem.

Make way for manatees
Article Abstract:
Florida manatees, a huge marine mammal which helps in controlling the aquatic weeds is facing the threat of extinction due to the human hunting for its meat and due to the boating accidents in Florida's congested waters. By attaching a radio-tracking device to its tail, the scientists can monitor the animal's movements. Adult manatees are typically 10 feet long and weigh 1000 pounds. Manatees are vegetarians and they live in shallow water. They are very sensitive to cold.
