Yeast feeds debate on prolonging life
Article Abstract:
A research team from the University College London has extended the lifespan of Drosophila flies by reducing the amount of yeast or sugar in their diets. The team observed a much more dramatic effect with yeast than with sugar even though the overall change in calorie content was the same, hinting to the fact that reducing protein and fat might be the key to living longer, rather than cutting down on total number of calories.

Coral reveals ancient origins of human genes
Article Abstract:
A study conducted on corals proved that ancient animals had passed through the Precambrian mud with a cache of genes that are common to humans. The evidence shows no similarity of these genes to those of insects like flies and worms and thus questions previous research that used these models to unravel the evolution of the human genome.
