A role for beta-actin in RNA polymerase III transcription
Article Abstract:
Highly purified polymerase III (pol III) contains associated beta-actin, and beta-actin localizes to an active U6 promoter in vivo. Transcription is regained upon treatment of pol III with CK2 and addition of beta-actin, which suggests that beta-actin associated with pol III is essential for basal pol III transcription.

Par4 is a coactivator for a splice isoform-specific transcriptional activation domain in WT1
Article Abstract:
Results show that a 17 amino acid domain of the Wilms' tumor suppressor protein WT1 is an independent transcriptional activation domain requiring the prostate apoptosis response protein 4 (par4) for its function. Mutation in the domain abolishes par4 interaction suggesting that it acts like a coactivator of the domain.

A core promoter element downstream of the TATA box that is recognized by TFIIB
Article Abstract:
A core promoter sequence element downstream of TATA that is contacted by TFIIB is defined. The element is useful for stabilizing TFIIB-TATA-binding protein (TBP)-promoter complex and modulating promoter strength of a selection of core promoters.
