A steroid receptor coactivator, SRA, functions as an RNA and is present in an SRC-1 complex
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to analyze the isolation and functional synthesis of a new transcriptional activator called steroid receptor RNA activator (SRA). Functional and mechanistic evidence that SRA functions as an RNA transcript were given. Results indicated that SRA exists in ribonucleoprotein complexes. Findings also showed that it may function to confer functional specificity upon multiprotein complexes recruited by liganded receptors.

SIN1/MIP1 maintains rictor-mTOR complex integrity and regulates Akt phosphorylation and substrate specificity
Article Abstract:
Studies were conducted to highlight the role of the SIN1-rictor-mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) complex in defining the function and specificity of Akt. The findings show that the SIN1-rictor-mTOR function in Akt-Ser473 phosphorylation is required for rictor-mTOR function in cell survival but is dispensable for raptor-mTOR function.
