Accelerated aging and failure to segregate damaged proteins in Sir2 mutants can be suppressed by overproducing the protein aggregation-remodeling factor Hsp104p
Article Abstract:
A study to show that carbonylated proteins are associated with Hsp104p-cointaining protein aggregates and that these aggregates are retained in progenitor cell during cytokinesis by a Sir2p-dependent process is conducted. Results show that deletion of HSP104 resulted in breakdown of damage asymmetry, and overproduction of Hsp104p partially restored damage retention.

Growth retardation and premature aging phenotypes in mice with disruption of the SNF2-like gene, PASG
Article Abstract:
Imperfect maintenance of genome integrity has been postulated to be an important cause of aging and this hypothesis is provided support by demonstrating that the disruption of PASG, a SNF2-like factor that facilitated SNA developmental growth retardation and premature aging phenotype in mice. PASG mice display signs of growth retardation and premature aging.

Early aging and age-related pathologies in mice deficient in BMAL1, the core component of the circadian clock
Article Abstract:
Multiple phenotypic changes and pathologies in BMAL1 mice that are characteristic of premature aging are reported. Clarification of the importance of the circadian system and its various components in the aging process will be gained from detailed studies of aging in other circadian mutant mice.
