Bacterial diversity and sulfur cycling in a mesophilic sulfide-rich spring
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on microbial community in a mesophilic sulfide-rich spring. The authors sugest that sulfide emerging from the spring supports this community which provides substrates for sulfate-reducing and sulfur-cycling bacteria.

Foreshore sand as a source of Escherichia coli in nearshore water of Lake Michigan beach
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on Escherichia coli concentrations and interactions in sand and beach water in Lake Michigan. The hypothesis that E. coli concentrations in sand control beach water quality has been tested and discussed.

Determining diversity of freshwater fungi on decaying leaves: comparison of traditional and molecular approaches
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on aquatic hyphomycetes. The authors describe their study of the early stages of leaf species and birch wood colonization by these fungi, and provide an estimate of fungal diversity on leaves.
