Molecular dynamics of Emiliania huxleyi and cooccurring viruses during two separate mesocosm studies
Article Abstract:
Denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis, sequencing analysis and analytical flow cytometry are used to monitor the dynamics and genetic richness of Emiliania huxleyi isolates and cooccurring viruses during two mesocosm experiments in a Norwegian fjord in 2000 and 2003. The results have shown the existence of a genetically rich, yet stable Emiliania huxleyi and Emiliania huxleyi-specific viruses (EhVs) community in the fjordic environment.

Virus succession observed during an Emiliania huxleyi bloom
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on viruses infecting coccolithophorid Emiliania huxleyi. The study of the diversity and population dynamics of these viruses has been carried out during E. huxeleyi bloom via the use of denaturing gradiant gel electrophoresis, and the authors report that only a few virus genotypes kill the bloom.

Does virus-induced lysis contribute significantly to bacterial mortality in the oxygenated sediment layer of shallow oxbow lakes?
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on benthic viruses. The ability of these viruses to control bacterial secondary production in the oxygenated sediment layer of a mesotrophic oxbow lake has been investigated, and the results are reported.
