The serine-aspartate repeat (Sdr) protein family in Staphylococcus epidermidis
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on Staphylococcus epidermidis proteins. Results indicate that these proteins can be expressed during infection.

The Fbe(SdrG) protein of Staphylococcus epidermidis HB promotes bacterial adherence to fibrinogen
Article Abstract:
Research demonstrates that fibrinogen-binding proteins Fbe and SdrG from Staphylococcus epidermidis HB and K28 strains, respectively, are analogous and together constitute Fbe. Gene mutation in the fbe gene suggests that Fbe proteins promote bacterial adherence to fibrinogen.

Bacterial fibronectin-binding proteins and endothelial cell surface fibronectin mediate adherence of Staphylococcus aureus to resting human endothelial cells
Article Abstract:
Results demonstrate that adherence of Staphylococcus aureus to human endothelial cells in vitro is mediated by fibronectin-binding proteins and cell associated fibronectin interaction. The data also point out that subsequent bacterial internalization requires fibronectin-binding proteins.
