Challenging the dogma: the hidden layer of non-protein-coding RNAs in complex organisms
Article Abstract:
A number of observations about the extent of non-protein-coding RNA (ncRNA) transcription in the higher eukaryotes and the range of genetic and epigenetic phenomena that are RNA-directed suggests that the traditional view of the structure of genetic regulatory systems in animals and plants may be incorrect. A re-examination is carried out suggesting a new framework for considering and understanding the genomic programming of biological complexity, autopoietic development and phenotypic variation.

The relationship between non-protein-coding DNA and eukaryotic complexity
Article Abstract:
An analysis of sequenced genomes reveals that the relative amount of non-protein-coding DNA sequence increases consistently with eukaryotic complexity. It is also shown that the distribution of introns in complex organisms is non-random, and the informational paradox in complex organisms is explained.

Mouse-centric comparative transcriptomics of protein coding and non-coding RNAs
Article Abstract:
The complete determination of the human genome sequence has increased many areas of post-genomic research. Transcriptomics as the basis of the study shall exploit the mouse transcriptome as a reference data set for examining functional genomic elements.
