Characterization of the lacticin 481 operon: the Lactococcus lactis genes lctF, lctE, and lctG encode a putative ABC transporter involved in bacteriocin immunity
Article Abstract:
Several genes in the lacticin operon of Lactobacilus lactis are cloned and sequenced. These genes are the lctF, lctE and lctG, all of which are located downstream of lctT. Expression studies of these genes reveal that they code for proteins that belong to the ABC transporter family. These gene products confer lacticin 481 immunity to the bacteria. The gene clusters is compared with other clusters of bacteriocin genes from other lantibiotic subgroups.

Maturation by LctT is required for biosynthesis of full-length lantibiotic lacticin 481
Article Abstract:
The involvement of LctT in lacticin 481 productions by assaying the antimicrobial activities secreted by Lactococcus lactis IL1403 bearing various combinations of lct genes is examined. It is found that in lantibiotic lacticin 481 biosynthesis, LctT cleaves the precursor peptide and exports mature lantibiotic.

Thermoregulation of N-acyl homoserine lactone-based quorum sensing in the soft rot bacterium pectobacterium atrosepticum
Article Abstract:
A study is conducted to show that thermoregulation of quorum sensing (QS) molecules reflect the thermoregulation of N-acyl homoserine lactone (HSL) synthesis. It is found that the QS thermoregulation is identical to that of the bacterial growth.
