Gross chromosomal rearrangements and genetic exchange between nonhomologous chromosomes following BRCA2 inactivation
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on the cancer-causing mutations that arise from gross chromosomal rearrangements (GCRs). The function of murine Brca2 in suppressing GCR formation after chromosomal breakage has been investigated.

Collaboration of homologous recombination and nonhomologous end-joining factors for the survival and integrity of mice and cells
Article Abstract:
Homologous recombination (HR) and nonhomologous end-joining (NHEJ) are mechanistically distinct DNA repair pathways that contribute substantially to double-strand break (DSB) repair in mammalian cells. The combined mutations in factors from both pathways, the HR protein Rad54 and the DNA-end-binding factor Ku80, which has a role in NHEJ were studied.

Assembly of the Escherichia coli RuvABC resolvasome directs the orientation of Holliday junction resolution
Article Abstract:
Assembly of the Escherichia coli RuvABC resolvasome, which directs orientation of Holliday junction resolution, is discussed. A defined in vitro system has been developed to direct the RuvABC resolvasome assembly and it has been found the resolution in one orientation or the other is set by the way the Ruv proteins are positioned on a junction of DNA, and some evidence that Holliday junction resolution comes as the resolvasome promotes branch migration exists.
