Electrophoretic mobility distributions of single-strain microbial populations
Article Abstract:
Electrophoretic mobility distributions should be used to identify population heterogeneity in microbial cultures before measuring their adhesion properties. This is necessary because the electrophoretic mobility of individual organisms within a single-strain population is not always the same.

Analysis of bacterial detachment from substratum surfaces by the passage of air-liquid interfaces
Article Abstract:
Bacterial retention on surfaces appears to determine the final biofilm more strongly than bacterial adhesion. This was the conclusion of researchers who studied bacterial retention to different substratum surfaces during the passage of an air-liquid interface.

Comparison of atomic force microscopy interaction forces between bacteria and silicon nitride substrata for three commonly used immobilization methods
Article Abstract:
The interaction forces obtained between Klebsiella terrigena and silicon nitride tip of an atomic force microscopy (AFM) for three commonly used immobilization methods, that is mechanical trapping, adsorption to positively charged glass and fixation to the tip, are compared. It is seen that mechanical trapping of single bacterial cells in filters appears to be the most reliable method for immobilization.
