Detection of enterotoxigenic Clostridium perfringens in food and fecal samples with duplex PCR and the slide latex agglutination test
Article Abstract:
The duplex polymerase chain reaction is a rapid diagnostic procedure for the detection of enterotoxigenic Clostridium perfringens strains in food. The method is able to detect as few as 10 cells per gram of food. Slide latex agglutination is a method of detecting enterotoxigenic Clostridium perfringens strains in stool. This method allows early detection of Clostridium infections and confirms toxin production.

Simple and rapid F+ coliphage culture, latex agglutination, and typing assay to detect and source track fecal contamination
Article Abstract:
F+coliphage culture, latex agglutination and typing (CLAT) was used for developing a rapid microbial water quality monitoring assay for the detection of F+ coliphage groups with antibody-coated particles. Results suggest that CLAT was successful in classifying F+RNA coliphages into serogroups typically obtained from human and animal fecal sources.

Evaluation of liquid- and fog-based application of sterilox hypochlorous acid solution for surface inactivation of human norovirus
Article Abstract:
The efficacy of hypochlorous acid solutions (HAS) to reduce noroviruses (NV) both in aqueous suspensions and on inanimate carriers is evaluated. It is concluded that hypochlorous acid solution as a liquid or fog is effective in disinfecting common settings that reduce NV exposures and thereby control virus spread through fomites.
