Development of unique house mouse resources suitable for evolutionary studies of speciation
Article Abstract:
A study to gain insight into the causes and mechanisms maintaining the 2 house mouse subspecies, forming a hybrid zone in Europe, as separate subspecies was conducted by developing eight wild-derived inbred house mouse strains. Phenotypic variation scored for 2 strains from opposite sides of hybrid zone showed significant differences.

Allelic melanism in American and British peppered moths
Article Abstract:
The American melanic phenotype and British melanic phenotype look indistinguishable. Through hybridization of the subspecies and Mendelian testcrosses of melanic progeny, it is demonstrated that carbonaria and swettaria are phenotypes produced by alleles at a single locus.

Inheritance of trunk banding in the tetra (Gymnocorymbus ternetzi characidae)
Article Abstract:
The two phenotypes associated with trunk banding exhibited by tetra (Gymnocorymbus ternetzi) are described. Studies indicate that the inheritance of these phenotypes is controlled by two autosomal loci acting in a complementary fashion.
