Distinct replication requirements for the two Vibrio cholerae chromosomes
Article Abstract:
Chromosome replication in microorganisms with multiple chromosomes such as Vibrio cholerae control replication by unique mechanisms. Research reveals an unprecedented need for DNA adenine methyltransferase in the replication of the two V. cholerae chromosomes, oriCI(sub)vc and oriCII(sub)vc, and involvement of an internal 12 base pair repeat and two hypothetical genes flanking oriCII(sub)vc.

SXT-related integrating conjugative element in new world Vibrio cholerae
Article Abstract:
An SXT-related integrating conjugative element (ICE), ICEVchMex1, in a Mexican environmental Vibrio cholerae isolate is described. Identification of ICEVchMex1 represents the first description of an SXT-related ICE in the Western Hemisphere and the significant differences between the SXT and ICEVchMex1 genomes suggest that these ICEs have involved independently.

The making and breaking of sister chromatid cohesion
Article Abstract:
This review discusses the process of chromosome replication , cohesion of sister chromatid, and separation of chromatids during the transmission of genetic material between generations. The sister chromatids separation is mediated by securin, separase, and the N-end rule degradation pathway.
