Diversity and heterogeneity of epibiotic bacterial communities on the marine nematode Eubostrichus dianae
Article Abstract:
Research was conducted to examine the diversity of a microbial community covering the surface of a marine nematode by a 16S ribosomal DNA restriction cutting and sequencing analysis. The relevance of individual sequence types in the epibiotic community was evaluated by quantitative oligonucleotide probing of total nucleic acids extracted from pooled nematode specimens. Results indicate an unexpectedly high level of bacterial diversity and heterogeneity in samples representing presumably very similar microenvironments.

Diversity and dynamics of a North Atlantic coastal Vibrio community
Article Abstract:
Vibrios are marine bacterias, which are present everywhere and since a long period of time they are used as models in the heterotrophic process, and they have regained the concentration because of the increase in the number of facultative pathogenic strains. The temperature can foretell the incidence of closely related Vibrios but with certain minute level of expansion, which is not so important for simultaneously existing in this trend.

Rapid and simple method for the most-probable-number estimation of arsenic-reducing bacteria
Article Abstract:
A method for estimating population sizes of dissimilatory arsenic-reducing bacteria is described. It is based on precipitating arsenite with sulfide and can detect arsenite concentrations as low as 0.05 mM.
