Diversity and relationship between Iranian ethnic groups: human dopamine transporter gene (DAT1) VNTR genotyping
Article Abstract:
The 40-bp variable number of tandem repeats polymorphism in the 3' untranslated region of the human DAT1 (dopamine transporter 1) is studied to test the influence of geographical and linguistic affiliation on the genetic affinities among the Iranian population. The DAT1 distribution in Iran has a different pattern, which leads to an understanding of differentiation and diversity of Iranian ethnic groups.

Prevalence of eight molecular markers associated with thrombotic diseases in six Amerindian tribes and two African groups of Costa Rica
Article Abstract:
The study conducted on the Amerindian tribes and African groups suggest the prevalence of molecular genetic markers or polymorphisms among them. The study was conducted by analyzing eight polymorphisms that are associated with risk/protective factors for venous and atherothrombotic diseases.

Blood group, red cell, and serum protein variation in the Cabecar and Huetar, two Chibchan Amerindian tribes of Costa Rica
Article Abstract:
A survey has been conducted of genetic diversity among the Cabecar and Huetar of Costa Rica, based on blood groups and red cell and serum proteins. The results were also compared with those of seven other Chibchan tribes of Costa Rica.
