Dmrt1, a gene related to worm and fly sexual regulators, is required for mammalian testis differentiation
Article Abstract:
Dmrt1 is a gene related to worm and fly sexual regulators and has been found to be necessary for mammalian testis differentiation. Murine Dmrt1 is required for postnatal testis differentiation, with mutant phenotypes similar to those caused by human chromosome 9(sub.p) deletions that remove the gene.

Pdgfr-alpha mediates testis cord organization and fetal Leydig cell development in the XY gonad
Article Abstract:
The role of platelet-derived growth factor ( PDGF) in testis organogenesis has been investigated. Pdgfr-alpha has been found to mediate fetal Leydig cell development and testis cord organization in the XY gonad.

Cullin-3 targets cyclin E for ubiquitination and controls S phase in mammalian cells
Article Abstract:
Cullin-3 (Cul-3), which in cells of mammals targets cyclin E, an evolutionarily conserved protein, for ubiquitination and controls S phase, is discussed. The first of the pathways of degradation for cyclin E has been targeted using a two-hybrid screen to identify proteins that could bind to free cyclin E only. Human Cul-3 was isolated. It is a member of the cullin family of E3 ubiquitin-protein ligases. Complementary ways to control cyclin abundance are suggested.
