Effect of humic substance photodegradation on bacterial growth and respiration in lake water
Article Abstract:
A study in lake water addressed to how humic substance (HS) chemical composition and photoreactivity affect bacterial growth, respiration and growth efficiency (BGE) was conducted. Aqueous solutions of HSs from diverse aquatic environments representing different dissolved organic matter sources were exposed to artificial UV radiation resulted increased bacterial respiration in HSs.

Inactivation of viruses in bubbling processes utilized for personal bioaerosol monitoring
Article Abstract:
A new personal bioaerosol sampler is developed and evaluated for sampling of viable airborne bacteria and fungi under controlled laboratory conditions as well as in the field. A significant improvement is achieved by utilizing virus maintenance fluid prepared by using Hank's solution with appropriate additives.
