Expression of the SmN splicing protein is developmentally regulated in the rodent brain but not in the rodent heart
Article Abstract:
An experiment was conducted to study the pattern of expression of the tissue-specific splicing protein SmN in the heart and brain of rodents. Analysis of tissue samples showed increased levels of SmN during brain development but not during development of the heart. In a subsequent experiment, it was shown that the high level of SmN corresponds to the abundance of AmN mRNA in the brain tissue. These results explan the different splicing mechanisms that occur in the adult and embryonic bran..

Translational regulation of oskar mRNA by bruno, an ovarian RNA-binding protein, is essential
Article Abstract:
Translation of oskar gene that deploys the posterior body-pattering determinant(nos) is repressed by an ovarian protein(bruno). If unchecked, oskar protein accumulates all along oocyte extending posterior body pattering to the whole embryo. Both mRNA translational control and localization are needed, because elimination of bruno binding keeps mRNA normal, but osk in oocyte and nos in embryo still persist.

Monoclonal antibody MT2 identifies the urodele alpha1 chain of type XII collagen, a developmentally regulated extracellular matrix protein in regenerating newt limbs
Article Abstract:
Type XII collagen plays a role in limb regeneration in urodele amphibians. The MT2 antigen, which is found only in regenerating limb tissue of urodele amphibians, has been previously described. A monoclonal antibody against MT2 also reacts with a protein fragment called IS-1, which is substantially homologous to the alpha1 chain of chicken type XII collagen.
