Gene flow's effect on the genetic architecture of a local adaptation and its consequences for QTL analyses
Article Abstract:
Computer simulations are used to determine how gene flow between populations affects the genetic architecture of a local adaptation and properties of alleies segregating in quantitative trait locus mapping populations. Results suggest that the average magnitude of an allele that causes a phenotypic difference between populations declines as the migration rate increases, but with an increase in migration, alleles of larger magnitude cause proportionally more of the phenotypic difference between populations.

Allelic penetrance approach as a tool to model two-locus interaction in complex binary traits
Article Abstract:
Allelic penetrance approach is used for formulating dominance and recessiveness in a single diallelic locus and also for modeling different genetic mechanisms for the joint action of two diallelic loci. The model has produced genetic interpretations of real data and can reveal genetic interactions that are undetectable by any of the traditional models.

Admixture in European Populus hybrid zones makes feasible the mapping of loci that contribute to reproductive isolation and trait differences
Article Abstract:
DNA microsatellites are used to assess the admixture method in hybrid zones between two members of the model tree genus Populus: Populus alpa and Populus tremula. The results have shown that allele frequency differentials between the two species are high.
