Genetics and regulation of two distinct haem-uptake systems, phu and has, in Pseudomonas aeruginosa
Article Abstract:
Results demonstrate identification of haem iron uptake gene cluster consisting of Pseudomonas haem uptake (phu) locus and haem-acquisition system (has) locus in Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Data indicate that phu and has are controlled by Fur protein and individually encode two distinct systems for the acquisition of haem and haemoglobin.

Serine/threonine protein kinases PknF and PknG of Mycobacterium tuberculosis: characterization and localization
Article Abstract:
Results demonstrate that pknF and pknG genes of Mycobacterium tuberculosis H(sub)37Rv encode protein kinases F and G, respectively. Data reveal that while the transmembrane PknF kinase phosphorylates myelin basic protein at serine/threonine sites, the cytosolic PknG phosphorylates myelin only at serine site.

Carbohydrate sulfation effects on growth of Pseudomonas aeruginosa
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on the human pathogen Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The synthesis of the sulfated monosaccharides and the investigation of their role in the clinical isolates growth are discussed.
