Quantitative genetics of life-history traits in a long-lived wild mammal
Article Abstract:
Heritabilities of several life-history traits in a long-lived, wild mammal, the bighorn sheep, have been studied using the mother-daughter regression method and resampling tests based on data from long-term monitoring of marked females. Adult mass was included in the analyses. Heritability estimates were in the 0.02-0.81 range with the mean at 0.52. No phenotypic or genetic correlations that would suggest trade-offs in life-history traits were seen.

The evolution of shape in the wing dimorphic cricket, Allonemobius socius
Article Abstract:
Evolution of shape in the wing-dimorphic cricket, Allonemobius socius, which also has differences in the thorax shape, is discussed. Size does not correlate with wing morph phenotypically or genetically, but shape has high correlation with wing morph phenotypically and genetically.

Heritability of body mass varies with age and season in wild bighorn sheep
Article Abstract:
Results show that initial heritability of body mass in wild bighorn sheep was moderate to low until 2 years of age but increased afterwards. Data suggest that decreased maternal influence lead to body mass increase with age in lambs and yearlings.
