Pathovars of Pseudomonas syringae causing bacterial brown spot and halo blight in Phaseolus vulgaris L. are distinguishable by ribotyping
Article Abstract:
Results demonstrate that ribotyping diferentiates pathovars with respect to the host plant. Data reveal that different ribotypes can be identified using combination of restriction enzymes and DNA probes as shown by Pseudomonas syringae pathovar evaluation.

Identification of an emergent and atypical Pseudomonas viridiflava lineage causing bacteriosis in plants of agronomic importance in a Spanish region
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on phylopathogenic Pseudomonas with the atypical LOPAT profile (L= levan production; O= oxidase production; P= pectinolitic activity; A= arginine dihydrolase production; T= tobacco hypersensitivity). The authors report the identification of the species via sequencing of the DNA which encodes 16S rRNA as Pseudomonas viridiflava, and demonstrate that the pathogenicity has been verified according to Koch's postulates.

Diverse AvrPtoB homologs from several Pseudomonas syringae pathovars elicit pto-dependent resistance and have similar virulence activities
Article Abstract:
The characterization of avrPtoB homologs from Pseudomonas syringae pv. tomato T1, PT23, and JL1065, P. syringae pv. syringae B728a, and P. syringae pv. maculicola ES4326 is described. It is observed that AvrPtoB homologs from diverse P. syringae pathovers have conserved avirulence and virulence activities similar to AvrPtoB activity, in spite of divergent sequences.
