Production of diarrheal enterotoxins and other potential virulence factors by veterinary isolates of Bacillus species associated with nongastrointestinal infections
Article Abstract:
Research demonstrates that Bacillus spp. associated with nongastrointestinal infections in animals may contain and express diarrheagenic enterotoxins such as HBL and BceT. Data indicate that these Bacillus isolates can be cytotoxic towards human HEp-2 cells.

Effects of above-optimum growth temperature and cell morphology on thermotolerance of Listeria monocytogenes cells suspended in bovine milk
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to examine the thermotolerances of two different cell forms of Listeria monocytogenes prepared in pasteurized and laboratory-tyndallized whole milk. Cell recovery was carried out at each heating interval in the heat-treated suspensions and dilutions while heat treatments were performed utilizing dilution bottles with whole milk. The reversion rate to normal-sized single bacteria was shown to be about 3 in 50 colonies.
