Sequence analysis of insecticidal genes from Xenorhabdus nematophilus PMFI296
Article Abstract:
The bacterium Xenorhabdus nematophilus contains two cosmid clones that code for insecticidal proteins. The cHRIM1 cosmid contains a gene whose product is an effective insecticide when expressed individually in E. coli.

Interactions of insecticidal toxin gene products from Xenorhabdus nematophilus PMFI296
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on genomic fragment genes from Xenorhabdus nematophilus PMFI296. Results demonstrate that these genes are involved in insecticidal activity towards commercially important insects.

Identification, typing, and insecticidal activity of Xenorhabdus isolates from entomopathogenic nematodes in United Kingdom soil and characterization of the xpt toxin loci
Article Abstract:
The insect bait entrapment technique was used to isolate Xenorhabdus strains from entomopathogenic nematodes from the United Kingdom soils and were characterized by partial sequencing of the 16S rRNA gene, four housekeeping genes (asd, ompR, recA, and serC) and the flagellin gene (fliC). It was found that most of the strains were similar to Xenorhabdus bovienii, and the remaining six had genes had genes most similar t those of Xemorhabdus nematophila.
