Improvement of foreign protein production in Aspergillus niger var. awamori by constitutive induction of the unfolded protein response
Article Abstract:
A general approach for the improvement of heterologous proteins is described by overexpressing the unfolded- protein response (UPR) pathway regulator. It is also proved that the constitutive induction of the UPR pathway in Aspergillus niger var.awamori can be achieved by expressing the activated form of the transcription factor hacA.

Molecular cloning and expression of Saccharomyces cerevisiae of a laccase gene from the ascomycete Melanocarpus albomyces
Article Abstract:
Research describes cloning and expression of lac1 gene encoding laccase, an extracellular protein of Melanocarpus albomyces. Sixfold increase in the laccase production in the heterologous species Saccharomyces cerevisiae is achieved by manipulating the C-terminal sequence.

Effects of inactivation and constitutive expression of the unfolded-protein response pathway on protein production in the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae
Article Abstract:
Research shows that disruption of the unfolded-protein response pathway regulator, HAC1, decreases the secretion of both alpha-amylase and endonuclease EGI, whereas constitutive overexpression of HAC1 increases alpha-amylase secretion but not of EGI.
