Inbreeding and extreme outbreeding cause sex differences in immune defense and life history traits in Epirrita autumnata
Article Abstract:
The effect of one generation brother-sister mating or extreme outbreeding on innate immunity and life history traits in the automnal moth, Epirrita autumnata, is investigated. The results have shown that it cannot be assumed that in invertebrates there is sexual dimorphism in immunity, where these responses might be a function of different genetic architectures and hence evolutionary responses might differ between the sexes.

The evolutionary genetics of sexual size dimorphism in the cricket Allonemobius socius
Article Abstract:
The role of genetic architecture in the evolution of sexual size dimorphism in the striped ground cricket, Allonemobius socius, is examined. The predictions of next-generation change have shown that the within-sex genetic correlations, as well as the between-sex genetic correlations, have played a vital role in sexually dimorphic evolution in this system.

Change in sexual size dimorphism as a correlated response to selection on fecundity
Article Abstract:
Results demonstrate that female-biased sexual size dimorphism can evolve as a result of fecundity selection measured as a ratio between female and male size. The process provides more direct access to sex-specific genes than single-sex selection as observed in fruit flies.
