Writing and reading about Dolly
Article Abstract:
The Dolly experimentation in cloning technology has paved the way for new scientific breakthroughs. Attempts to replicate or improve such technology should recognize the need to directly rely on published professional journals for information. Actual procedures should follow the experimental protocol by critically reading the technical in-house reports. With these, more effective explanatory narratives will be available for use.

Coding with spike shapes and graded potentials in cortical networks
Article Abstract:
An action potential (AP) waveform code is proposed for cortical pyramidal neurones in which the spike shape carries information, which is preserved during synaptic integration of a single neurone. The different approaches used for examining the relative importance of different codes in neural information processing are discussed.

Revisiting "scale-free" networks
Article Abstract:
The power-law connectivity distribution seen in scale-free networks seems to emerge as one of the very few universal mathematical laws of life. The strategy employed in the scale-free networks is one that makes full use of the traditional prestige of physics and its achievement.
