InhA, a target of the antituberculous drug isoniazid, is involved in a mycobacterial fatty acid elongation system, FAS-II
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on the fatty acid long-chain precursors. The possibility that the elongation complex can be involved in the mycolic acid synthesis is discussed.

Mechanism of isoniazid uptake in Mycobacterium tuberculosis
Article Abstract:
Isoniazid is the basis of antituberculous treatment, although its mode of action is not well understood. INH uptake kinetics have been investigated to study the transport mechanism. The effects of substrate concentration, low air concentration, and temperature on INH transport kinetics were studied and uptake in M. tuberculosis H37Rv was compared to transport and accumulation of glycerol and proline.
