Iron stress and pyoverdin production by a fluorecent Pseudomonad in the rhizosphere of white lupine (Lupinus albus L.) and barley (Hordeum vulgare L.)
Article Abstract:
Pseudomonas fluroscens Pf-5 (pvd-inaZ) induces low iron stress and pyoverdin production in the rhizosphere of white lupine (Lupinus albus L.) and barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) in a soil low in available iron. The ice nucleation activity ranges from -3.0 to -2.8 log ice nuclei CFU(super -1) for barley and from -3.4 to -3.0 log ice nuclei CFU(super -1) for lupine. The ice nucleation activity remains unchanged over time and is similar in all root zones. The maximum pyoverdin accumulation is 0.5 and 0.8 nmol g of root(super -1) for lupine and barley, respectively.

Organotin decomposition by pyochelin, secreted by Pseudomonas aeruginosa even in an iron-sufficient environment
Article Abstract:
The decomposition of triphenyltin chloride (TPT) by Pseudomonas aeruginosa is investigated. It is observed that the microorganism secretes pyochelin (PCH) as the organotin-decomposing factor, even in the presence of 100 muM of iron.
