JNK potentiates TNF-stimulated necrosis by increasing the production of cytotoxic reactive oxygen species
Article Abstract:
Fibroblasts isolated from wild-type Mkk4 (super -/-) Mkk7 (super -/-) and Jnk1 (super -/-) Jnk2 (super -/-) mice are used to reexamine the function of c-Jun NH2-terminal kinase (JNK) in tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-stimulated cell death. Increased necrosis may represent a contributing factor in stress-induced inflammatory responses mediated by JNK.

An essential role of the JIP1 scaffold protein for JNK activation in adipose tissue
Article Abstract:
The recent studies report that c-Jun NH2-terminal kinase (JNK)- interacting protein 1(JIP1) scaffold protein, binding components of the JNK, is essential for JNK activation in the adipose tissue of obese mice. The data analyses indicate JIP1 as a novel molecular target for therapeutic intervention in the development of obesity.

Mechanism of p38 MAP kinase activation in vivo
Article Abstract:
The authors have investigated p38 mitogen-activated protein (MAP) kinase activated by different protein kinases. The role of these other protein kinases in p38 MAP kinase activation mechanism has been studied via the analysis of the disruption effect of the murine genes on the p38 MAP kinase signaling pathway.
